NAVI + PAWAN
#RJSistersStyle
_________
The #RJSCouplesConcept is a curated effort to create inspirational and stylized looks for the bride and groom. However, in our second feature we swapped the groom out for the sister-of-the-bride! We styled real sisters, Navi and Pawan, taking inspiration from the emotionally intimate moments shared between a bride and her maid-of-honour on the morning of her big day.

The sister's look is the most special one – after the bride of course! She should complement the bride, yet still stand out. For this look, we drew on the warm golds in Navi’s bridal lehnga and replicated it in her sister’s outfit. To add drama and dimension, we used greens throughout – from the soft mint beads and stones in Navi's ANASTASIA Kundan Choker (which were a custom addition, done by our very own co-owner Jasleen!) to the mint MYRA Karey in Pawan’s kara stack. Let’s not forget the subtle hint of emerald in our GAZAL Kundan Hand Pieces styled on our bride!

Navi’s bridal choora was custom made in-house and specifically curated for this shoot. Pulling together our gold plated kundan karey and SHIRAZ Red choora bangles, we were able to create the perfect set. A bridal look isn’t complete without a set of statement kaleeray. For this shoot, we styled Navi in our classic SONA Pippal Patti kaleeray which tied in perfectly with the gold embroidery on both Punjab Couture House outfits.

Pawan’s warm beige gold sharara was styled with white kundan. We put Pawan in our ANIKA Kundan Tikka and layered it with our ANNALISE Braid Band for extra drama and princess vibes. We completed her look with our best-selling TESSA Non-Pierced Nosering (perfect for bridesmaids and guests), our new Kundan Handpieces and a set of custom-designed karey bangles stack. The white pearls throughout Pawan's jewelry pieces brightened her entire look, enhancing her natural glow and complimenting the "sheesha" (mirror) work all over her outfit!

When it comes to makeup, we believe in enhancing the natural beauty of our models. You want your skin to glow and radiate happiness on your big day. When curating Navi’s look, we were inspired by the elegance and poise carried by the RJS Bride on her wedding day. We chose to keep Navi’s makeup dramatic yet clean. To add depth and dimension, we opted for a cut crease smokey eye using shades slightly darker than her outfit - deciding to stay away from shimmery shadows altogether. Although it could pair nicely with her gold embroidery, the statement jewelry and glistening makeup together would be all too excessive. The matte shadows and bright kundan jewelry balanced one another out, giving Navi an elegant yet regal wedding day look.
The hair and makeup of the maid-of-honour should also complement the bride – the same way as her jewelry and outfit. Keeping this in mind, we gave Pawan a polished natural glow which was playful and soft.
The decor and lighting set the mood on your wedding day. For this shoot, we had chosen to go with soft lighting fixtures – creating a warm ambience. This was perfect in reflecting the sentimentality and intimate moments shared between sisters in the early hours of the morning. It’s important to have a colour palette similar to your own when deciding your wedding décor. Your palette should include a minimum of three colours; your main shade matching your outfit, a secondary complementary colour and a third pop of colour which stands out compared to the rest. Our décor palette consists of deep reds, warm golds and a hint of bright mint green! These shades from Navi and Pawan's outfits can be seen throughout the backdrop. All in all, the décor and lighting tied the whole shoot together, leaving us with a perfectly harmonious #RJSCouplesConcept.
